Wellness Health Are Two Very Important Components

 

Wellness and health are two very important components to having a long, productive and enjoyable future. Consider the consequences of not having these-you would be disabled or very sick. Both of these depressing conditions would negatively influence your future.

When you think about wellness and health you should think about the big picture. How can you take care of yourself today so that you will be healthy today and tomorrow? Wellness and health are vital to everything that we do in our lives. Consider the many different ways that we can influence our own wellness and health.

 

Many people are eating diets high in sugar, fats and starches that are filled with empty calories and they are gaining weight at an amazing rate every year. We are becoming a nation of fat people and we are suffering from the consequences of our bad eating habits. Many people today are not only obese, but they have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis and many other ailments. A lot of these problems could be eliminated or even reduced if people thought more about their own personal wellness and health.

In addition, think about how many people do not exercise. Their personal wellness and health are being negatively affected by their poor choices. Think about your body as if it were a car. The car sits idle for 6 months and then you decide to go for a drive, but it will not start. The battery is dead. Now, think about your body in a similar way. The less you use your muscles the more lax they become until any effort becomes too strenuous.

You wellness and health can be changed, but only you can do it. Start small by beginning an exercise program. Maybe you can only walk for 5 minutes in the beginning, but this is better than nothing. Eventually you will be able to increase your distance to 6 minutes, then to 7 and so forth.

The same is true with your diet. You can start slowly by reducing the amount of fat or salt in your diet. Dramatic changes will not be maintained over the long distance and you will probably fall back into your old habits. If you just can not live without chocolate, allow yourself a small amount every day-just avoid eating the entire candy bar.

Your wellness and overall health can be improved. You are the one person in the world that can do this. No amount of nagging or ridicule from family or friends will make you change your habits. You need to want this more than anything else in the world. You can do it, just take it one small step at a time.
