Healthy Fats For A Healthy Diet

 

Getting the best information available about what you should include in a healthy diet is very confusing. Every day you hear about new medical breakthroughs being touted as the best information you can get. To say the least you are probably as confused as the rest of us about what are healthy fats and what are bad fats.

There are, however, a few different types of healthy fats that you should include in your daily dietary plans. There are fats and oils that make up fatty acids and each of these is a mixture of diverse fatty acids.

 

„h One healthy fat that is typically found in seeds, nuts, vegetable oils, and some plants foods is monounsaturated fatty acids. These healthy fats maintain a liquid consistency when kept at room temperature.

„h The second healthy fat is found in seafood, fish and vegetable oils called polyunsaturated fatty acids. These healthy fats can be either a liquid or soft consistency when kept at room temperature.

If you were not confused before, you probably are now. Because, then there are the unhealthy fats that we have in our daily diets.

„h The bad fat is found in food that comes from animals and may include meat, dairy products and butter. There are even some vegetables that also contain these unhealthy fats called saturated fatty acids and the include Palm oil or kernels and coconut. These remain in a solid form when kept at room temperature.

„h The second bad fat is trans fatty acids. These are liquid vegetable oils¡Xthey obtain their liquid tendency because of added processing and are usually found in processed foods such as cookies and crackers.

How do you figure out which type of fat is in the foods you are eating and if they are the healthy fats? Well, you must begin by reading the labels for ¡¥everything¡¦ you buy. This is time-consuming and very boring, but if you want to improve you health by eating primarily health fats, this is your first step.

Getting products with healthy fats is getting easier because manufacturers are hearing the cry from the consumer for healthier foods. Then, you have the consumer unions and even the Surgeon General putting out information on healthier eating habits. Regardless of what you do, you must be careful and really understand the differences in all types of fats.

You will not regret taking the time to learn more about healthy fats and how they affect your body. In the short run, you will probably lose some weight. In the long run, you will probably be healthier and lower your cholesterol and blood pressure.

What you do to your body today will have a lasting affect for the new few decades¡Xlearning what a healthy fat is will pay benefits for many, many years.
